Country to Canberra leadership competition

02Aug

Member for Stuart, Dan van Holst Pellekaan MP, is encouraging female students in Years 10-12 to apply for the Country to Canberra leadership competition.

Entries have opened for the fifth annual competition where at least 15 rural girls will win an all-expenses paid “Power Trip” to Canberra.

They will have the opportunity to meet with politicians and CEOs, as well as undertake leadership and public speaking training. Winners also receive mentorship sessions and a number of other opportunities.

“This is a wonderful opportunity and it would be fantastic to see students from the electorate of Stuart at this year’s trip,” Mr van Holst Pellekaan said.

“Not only will the trip provide participants with valuable, lifelong skills, but it will be an experience they will remember for the rest of their lives.”

To enter, submit a short video or written entry on the 2018 competition question, “Life is a roadtrip with twists and turns. How can we support one another to navigate the road to gender equality?”
