Rebates for drought resilience

11Feb

Farmers and pastoralists can now register their interest in a $5 million Federal rebate scheme for new water infrastructure designed to improve their drought resilience.

Member for Stuart, Dan van Holst Pellekaan MP, is encouraging primary producers to consider the On-Farm Emergency Water Infrastructure Rebate Scheme, which will provide a 25 per cent rebate up to $25,000 for eligible water infrastructure for grazing livestock.

“Unfortunately much of our electorate is drought affected and I strongly encourage people to take the time to look into this rebate, as well as the other assistance that is available.

“The scheme can be applied to new pipes, water storage, pumps, de-silting dams, and the drilling of new stock water bores and their infrastructure.”

The State Government is working with the Federal Government to finalise the delivery of this program but producers can register their interest now by email: [email protected] or call the PIRSA Hotline on 1800 255 556.

Projects from 1 July 2018 are eligible for funding under the scheme.
